Are psychologists reliable sources to advise people on their romantic relationships? There are three studies that are mentioned from psychology-related journals that make suggestions about why people are attracted to each other or are successful in relationships. Certain aspects of a person’s online dating profile can lead to a more successful experience, such as having great pictures of yourself. Evidence is used from another journal to say that people who splurge for luxury items may look more attractive initially to the opposite sex than someone who buys “green” items. However, the “green” person has a better chance at being in a longer relationship. Divorce rates among people of certain occupations are discussed. By the end of the article, it seems inconclusive that psychologists are the most fit people to offer relationship advice.
