There are a lot of different variables that go into a mental health condition. Often times a diagnosis is reached based on symptoms and a treatment plan is based on their experience with other patients who have had similar symptoms. It is more complex than that though. Our brains are made up of all different experiences, genetic traits, and thoughts that we have on a daily basis. A mental health condition is derived from these thoughts and feelings and exacerbated by the environment and other stimulus like experiences an individual has had. Diagnosis and treatment has to take place on a person by person basis.
Key Takeaways:
- Most people think that people with mental health disorders have something wrong with their brain, but there isn’t clear cut evidence of that.
