People often think that a wedding should be an expensive and elaborate event. Maybe that is good for some couples, but others may want to save their money. Maybe the cash could pay for a good honeymoon instead. Or divorce. Studies reveal that elaborate Hollywood weddings do not have the survival rate that the investment might suggest. Paying for a grand wedding does not mean that happiness will follow. That does not mean that having a wedding is bad. Studies also show that couples have a better chance of lasting if they go through with a normal wedding ceremony of some kind. This does not have to be fancy, just enough to cement the relationship. Maybe with divorce rates so high, couples should just focus on a fundamental wedding to show their love to the world.
